I'm New! What do I need to know?

Welcome

On behalf of Father John Mosier and Father Celestine, our deacons, and parish staff, we welcome you to St. Mark’s and invite you to engage in the life of this vibrant Catholic Community.

It was 60 years ago on the corner of Cole and Northview in Boise, Idaho; a couple of hundred parishioners founded St. Mark’s Parish and School.

Today it is home to over 1,500 families and 70+ ministries and groups. Our campus today includes a beautiful church that seats 1,650 for Mass, a perpetual Eucharistic adoration chapel, an esteemed Catholic school for Pre-K through Grade 8, The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a sought-after early childhood faith formation program, and a food bank that feeds over 26,000 hungry people each year. There is something for everyone here- meaningful ways

  • to serve,
  • to pray,
  • to worship,
  • to learn, and
  • to grow in fellowship and friendship.

As we look back with gratitude, let us look forward to a growing, welcoming parish family that continuously encounters the love of God which we joyfully share.

  • How do I get to the church?

    See the map below

  • Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking around our church!

  • Where do my children go?

Catholics love to worship with our children next to us! Bring them to Mass!

We have a cryroom, which is sound-proof, if they are not able to settle. This is a temporary space, not one to plan on sitting in the entire Mass.

We offer Children's Faith Formation between the morning Masses (during the school year).

  • Am I expected to put money in the offering basket?

    • You are NOT obligated to put any funds in the basket as it is passed each weekend; however, we invite you to consider the value of our services on your life.
    • Our weekday Masses do not have a basket passed, but you are welcome to drop your envelopes in the gray mailbox in front of the parish office or give your check or cash to someone at the front desk.
    • Feel free to set up an automatic electronic withdrawal on our website: https://www.stmarksboise.org/donate
  • Is there a wheelchair accessible entrance?

Yes, both the front and back entrances of the church have Handicapped accessible doors which will open automatically for you.

  • How do I join the church?

We would love to have you officially join so that you can receive emails about the happenings at the church, and your tithe can be recorded correctly for tax purposes.
