Funerals

What to do when your loved one dies:
1. If the person is on hospice, call your hospice contact first.  Hospice will come to your home to confirm death and pronounce time of death.  Then they will call the funeral home for you.

2. If the person is not on hospice and they die at home you should call a funeral home and they will coordinate with the coroner's office.  Below are two funeral homes in our area:
     -Accent Funeral Home, 208-888-5833
     -Cloverdale Funeral Home, 208-375-2212

3. Once you have contacted the funeral home, call our parish office, 208-375-6651.  When your call is received by one of our team members at the front desk, one of our Deacons will be assigned and reach out to meet with your family.  The Deacon will assist in working with the funeral home and every detail they will need in planning your loved one's funeral Mass.  If you call after hours, or when the office is closed, please leave your name, phone number, and the name of the person who has passed away.  Our team will call you back the next business day as soon as possible.

4. In your meeting with the Deacon you will discuss:
-Scheduling the date and time with family and funeral home: Funerals are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
-Vigil or Rosary prior to funeral Mass.
     -Funeral Mass.
-Choose the readings and psalm.
-Music Director will reach out to you about choosing the music.
-Before meeting with the family the Deacon will verify burial or interment location, date, and time with the funeral home.
-Discuss funeral reception luncheon for registered parishioners.
-Funeral home will discuss fees associated with the funeral Mass (Music, Clergy stipends, etc.)

St. Mark's offers a GriefShare ministry that meets here during the day which offers support and encouragement for your grief journey.  For more information, please contact the parish office at 208-375-6651.
