Preparation for the reception of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is a two year process beginning in the first grade. First reception of Reconciliation and Eucharist should be primarily a family celebration within the context of the Church community. In this way the child, through the family, takes on greater participation in the Church of which he/she is a member and thus continues to realize more deeply the unique call of one’s Baptism. It is the parent’s responsibility to catechize their children for the sacraments. The catechist in the classroom helps to support the parent in providing a formal preparation as is found in the student text.
We offer classes for Sacramental Preparation on Sunday mornings, 9:40-10:50 am and on Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:00 pm. Classes begin in September and end in May.
