Father Ben is a native of Idaho having been raised in Cottonwood, Idaho. After high school, he attended Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho and found his calling to the priesthood and his educational development at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon. He was the Parochial Vicar at Holy Apostles in Meridian and Risen Christ in Boise prior to becoming the Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel and now, St. Mark’s. He is an avid hunter and outdoors person and loves encouraging the youth of our community in their spiritual walk with the Lord.

Fr. Vitalis Onyeama
Ordained July 24, 2010


Father Vitalis is from the South Eastern part of Nigeria. Father Vitalis entered the Seminary in 1999 after High School and studied Philosophy and Theology at Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu, and Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri, respectively.

Father Vitalis served as the Secretary General of his Order (Sons of Mary Mother of Mercy) and as the Spiritual Director and Chaplain to two Mission High Schools for five years. He also served as the Director of Communication to his Order for two years.

Father Vitalis said he is glad to be among the people of God in Boise! And will happily serve the people of God in St. Mark’s as the Parochial Vicar. He said that he enjoys serving the people of God and being with them in their journeys of life gives peace to his soul. He prays that God gives him the missionary zeal of St Paul the Apostle.

 Deacon Clyde Brinegar

Deacon Clyde Brinegar

Deacon Clyde is a native of Idaho, born in Weiser and raised in Burley. He and his wife Kathleen met at Idaho State University and have been married over 34 years. They have three children, Katy, Keriann, and Mark. Clyde focuses his ministry efforts on RCIA and other catechesis opportunities. Apologetics and “Defending the Faith” are new areas of interest as he shares his journey. Clyde joined the church in April 2000 and just recently completed his studies through the Diocese of Boise, Servant School to become a deacon within the diocese.

 Deacon Mike Lowe

Deacon Mike Lowe

Ordained in 2005, Deacon Mike and his wife (Linda) are actively involved in St. Marks. He and his wife met in high school 47 years ago, have three boys and four grandchildren. Linda is involved in the Quilting ministry, Mana ministry and Outreach. Deacon Mike handles the emergency calls by notifying a priest to administer the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick (or last rites); Deacon Mike also coordinates: Outreach Ministry for the Retirement homes, Nursing facilities and the home-bound; the LAZARUS ministry which works with families dealing with the dying and death of loved, planning a vigil or funeral; for training Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) for Communion for Mass or Outreach; he also helps when requested with Baptisms and Weddings.

Deacon Terry has been a Pharmacist for 40 years. He is married to Rita and has six grown children in their combined families as well as 10 grandchildren and three dogs. His interests include his family, trains and fishing. He is involved in Marriage Preparation classes, Annulments and the Reel Men ministry.

 Deacon Jim Pasker

Deacon Jim and his wife, Mary have played a vital role at St. Mark’s and the community. Along with normally scheduled Mass liturgy and added deacon assignments, Jim is the coordinator for the Sacrament of Baptism, providing instruction and assisting parents and godparents.  He is also a presenter for the Journey through Scripture series of bible studies, Spiritual Director for the St. Mark’s Evangelization Retreats, and serves on the Spiritual Development committee for the St. Mark’s strategic plan.  Jim and his wife Mary are also mentors for couples in formation for the diaconate.

 Deacon Joe Rodriguez

Deacon Joe Rodriguez

Deacon Joe works routinely in the Liturgy and assists with the Latino Ministry. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He and his wife, Alma, have been an integral part of the St. Mark’s Catholic Community for many years.
